<p data-path-to-node="1">Abia State University (ABSU) has officially rescheduled the commencement of its First Semester Examinations for the 2025/2026 academic session.</p>
<p data-path-to-node="2">The Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of Senate, <strong data-path-to-node="2" data-index-in-node="44">Professor Ndukwe J. Okeudo</strong>, approved a two-week postponement to the original schedule. Initially set to begin on Monday, April 27th, 2026, the examinations will now officially start on <strong data-path-to-node="2" data-index-in-node="229">Monday, May 11th, 2026</strong>.</p>
<h3 data-path-to-node="4">Strict Eligibility Requirements</h3>
<p data-path-to-node="5">The University management accompanied this announcement with a firm reminder regarding student eligibility. To be cleared for the examination hall, students must meet the following criteria:</p>

<p data-path-to-node="6,0,0"><strong data-path-to-node="6,0,0" data-index-in-node="0">Financial Clearance:</strong> Only "bonafide" students who have fully settled their school fees are eligible.</p>

<p data-path-to-node="6,1,0"><strong data-path-to-node="6,1,0" data-index-in-node="0">Course Registration:</strong> Students must have completed their formal course registration for the semester.</p>

<p data-path-to-node="6,2,0"><strong data-path-to-node="6,2,0" data-index-in-node="0">The 75% Rule:</strong> The University’s Senate policy requiring a minimum of <strong data-path-to-node="6,2,0" data-index-in-node="68">75% lecture attendance</strong> will be strictly enforced. Students who fell short of this mark during the semester will not be permitted to write the exams.</p>

<p data-path-to-node="9">The two-week extension offers a valuable window for students to finalize their preparations. However, it also serves as a final warning for those with outstanding administrative issues.</p>
